Actionprism Services
Drawing for every occasion
Live illustration and bespoke artwork for weddings, corporate events, private parties, and milestone celebrations - created in the moment, kept for a lifetime.
What we draw
Each service is shaped around a specific type of event. There is no fixed package - the scope, style, and format adapt to what your occasion actually needs.
Wedding Portraits
A live portrait of the couple drawn during the reception - guests watch it take shape, then the finished piece goes home with the newlyweds. Watercolour, ink, or pencil depending on preference.
Corporate Events
Sketch portraits of attendees, illustrated keynote moments, or visual summaries of panel discussions - drawn live and handed to participants as they leave. Works well for conferences and product launches.
Private Parties
Birthdays, anniversaries, and family gatherings where guests receive a quick drawn portrait as a keepsake. The artist works through the crowd at a pace that suits the event's energy.
Milestone Commissions
A prepared illustration marking a specific achievement - retirement, graduation, a significant anniversary. Completed in advance using reference photos and delivered framed or as a print.
Virtual Event Illustration
Live drawing streamed into online events - the artist works on screen in real time while participants watch. Suitable for remote team events, online launches, and digital celebrations.
Bespoke Stationery Art
Hand-drawn illustrations for invitations, menus, seating plans, and event programmes. Designed to match the visual tone of the occasion and printed to the client's specification.
One specialist, one brief
Every project at Actionprism is handled by a single illustrator from the first conversation to the finished piece. There is no handoff between a sales team and a delivery team - the person you speak to is the person who draws. This matters because the details that make an event specific - the couple's story, the company's visual identity, the atmosphere of the room - are absorbed directly rather than summarised in a brief.
Working one-on-one also means the work can shift as the event unfolds. Live drawing is inherently responsive, and the illustrator adjusts pace, subject, and format based on what is actually happening rather than a pre-set schedule.
"I had assumed live drawing would feel like a performance. It was much quieter than that - people drifted over, watched for a few minutes, and left with something tangible."
- Orla Dempsey, private client, Edinburgh
Choosing the right format
The format of illustration that fits your event depends on two things: how much time the artist has with each subject, and whether the work is meant to be experienced live or received as a finished object. The matrix below maps this out across four common scenarios.
Quick sketch portraits - 5 to 8 minutes per person, handed over immediately
Detailed scene or group piece built across the event, revealed at the end
Stationery illustrations designed in advance from references and specs
Milestone commission - full composition, framed and delivered before the occasion
